Ms. Keane's Retirement
A fond farewell was given to Angela Keane on her retirement as Principal of the Little Angels School after 37 years at the school.
She is a huge loss to the school, staff, pupils, parents and to special education. She is the inspiration behind the success of the school.
During her Principalship since 2005 the school grew from strength to strength from 25 pupils and 10 staff to over 100 pupils and 65 staff at present.
The school is involved in many initiatives, awards, achievements, 7th green flag and the 'Changemarker' school award by Ashoka..... the only special school to get this award.
Ms Keane has also been the driving force behind the development of a new state of the art school which is completed and ready to go to tender.
There were several events and presentations during the week to mark her retirement.
A special assembly in her honour, where the pupils presented her with cards, flowers and a beautiful piece of artwork composed of a fingerprint of each of the pupils in the school. We had a school mass and a parents and friends coffee morning as well as a staff meal.
Ms Keane spoke of how she will miss the school, staff, pupils and parents. She also thanked the whole school community who have always supported her over the years.
And we also thank her and wish her all the best in her retirement.
